JICA Delegation at Ashur University
The President of Ashur University, Prof. Dr. Kadhim  Al-Majidi, met with the JICA delegation on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 12:00 to discuss possible scientific, academic and cultural cooperation between the two institutions, especially in the area of ​​academic exchange for faculty members, with the possibility of establishing a department to teach the Japanese language in the College of Arts at Ashur University.

As a first step towards this cooperation between the two institutions , Ashur University will host Professor Hiroshi Sukita to present his lecture on the topic (Education in the Japanese Way) on Thursday, February 20, 2025, God willing.
The meeting was attended from the Japanese side by Mr. Yuiji Nashida, Deputy Head of the JICA Iraq Office, and Ms. Faika Nasser, Assistant Head of the JICA Iraq Office, in addition to Mr. Zaid Badie, Program Officer at the JICA Iraq Office, and Mr. Shinji Sakuma, Employee at the JICA Iraq Office. The meeting was attended from Ashur University by Dr. Samir Al-Yara, Scientific Assistant to the President of the University, Professor Dr. Kabila Faris, Director of Scholarships and Cultural Relations, and a number of deans of the university. During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Kadhim Al-Majidi, President of Ashur University, expressed the university's readiness to open up to Japanese universities and academic institutions in the fields of research, student and academic exchange, holding workshops and seminars, and establishing research projects that meet the needs of the labor market in all specializations. The Director of the Scholarships and Cultural Relations  at Ashur University also presented a video and an introductory presentation about Ashur University, its vision, goals, mission, and its keenness to develop opportunities for scientific and academic cooperation and conclude agreements with distinguished international institutions and universities. The university, its sports center, the teaching hospital, and its medical centers were also introduced. At the end of the meeting, the Japanese delegation was taken on an introductory tour of the university. After this introduction to the university and the introductory tour, the members of the Japanese delegation expressed their great admiration for the university, its buildings, and its capabilities, considering that it represents a distinguished image of Iraqi universities due to its keenness to provide various distinguished educational services to its students and community. The members of the delegation also stressed their desire to cooperate with Ashur University, which has many advantages. The delegation members thanked Ashur University for the warm welcome, wishing it every success in its achievements that are flourishing and growing day after day.
