The Head of the Department of Cybersecurity Sciences at Ashur University, Assistant Professor Ghassan Muslim Hassan, participated in discussing the thesis of master’s student Mahmoud Abdel Razzaq Mahmoud, tagged
"Detection of Red Palm Weevil Using Machine Learning and Acoustic Sensing"
Which took place in the Department of Computer Science / Al-Mustansiriya University, and the thesis aims to present two programming models based on deep learning techniques and acoustic sensing, especially the EfficientNet and DenseNet169 algorithms for detecting the red palm weevil. The results of the thesis showed that the EfficientNet algorithm was superior, achieving an accuracy of up to 95.57%, compared to DenseNet169, which achieved an accuracy of up to 94%, in detecting the red palm weevil.
