The President of Ashur University, Prof. Dr. Kadhum Abboud Issa Al-Majidi, visited the College of Engineering at the University of Lincoln in Britain and met with the Dean of the College, Professor Rafdar Alexander Burman, who welcomed this visit for its importance as it is the first visit of the President of Ashur University. After the welcome, the Dean of the College of Engineering accompanied the President of the University to review the curricula, scientific laboratories and infrastructure of the college. The Dean of the College, Professor Burman, stressed the cooperation between the College of Engineering at Lincoln University and the Colleges of Engineering at Ashur University and that the doors of the College of Engineering are open to students of the Colleges of Engineering at Ashur University for training and other matters that add and enhance the experiences of students. During this visit, the basic rules were laid down for signing the memorandum of joint scientific and academic cooperation between Ashur University and Lincoln University, which includes conducting joint scientific research according to the requirements of scientific research and exchanging various experiences. In light of this, the signing of a memorandum of understanding was discussed, which includes an agreement on twinning between the two universities with regard to the Colleges of Engineering and the Technical College of Engineering, in addition to agreeing on a 1 + 3 and 2 + 2 cooperation program, which means that the study will be three years at Ashur University. A year at Lincoln University or two years at Ashur University and two years at Lincoln University. It was also agreed on the possibility of training engineering college students in the summer at Lincoln University and scientific visit exchange programs for students and teaching staff.
