On the holy anniversary of Ashura,
The President of Ashur University offers his condolences for the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
On the tenth of Muharram every year, we commemorate a painful memory: the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), his honorable family, and his supporters (peace be upon them), who fought with their lives for the sake of God and to uphold the word of truth. This memory is immortalized by history throughout the years, and no one can erase this eternal memory.
The revolution of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) is not a past event; rather, it is an everlasting awareness and a universal moral legacy that challenges injustice in every time and place.
Hussein taught humanity how to die for justice, but humanity must still learn how to live for justice, how to protect freedom, and how to keep the flame of reform burning.
The revolution of Hussein (peace be upon him) is an ongoing revolution that will never be extinguished. Its camp consists of all those who refuse to submit to an unjust authority and who believe that a human being cannot be bought or sold, because dignity is non-negotiable. As we offer our condolences to ourselves, the Islamic nation, the Iraqi people, and all free people around the world on the anniversary of Ashura, we draw inspiration from this great event for the philosophy of sacrifice and the path of reform in the face of tyranny, injustice, and oppression.
We ask God Almighty to perpetuate security, safety, stability, and prosperity for our people, and to advance development and progress, and to spread peace throughout the Islamic and Arab nations. He is the best Lord and the best Supporter.
Peace be upon Al-Hussein
And upon Ali ibn Al-Hussein
And upon the sons of Al-Hussein
And upon the companions of Al-Hussein
