Under the supervision and in the presence of the President of Ashur University, a joint scientific conference explored the role of law in achieving green sustainability.

Under the supervision and in the presence of the President of Ashur University, Professor Dr. Kadhim Aboud Al-Majidi, and under the auspices of the Presidency of Al-Mustansiriya University, and in cooperation between the Colleges of Law at Al-Mustansiriya University and Ashur University, the annual scientific conference entitled “The Role of Law in Achieving Green Sustainability – Towards a Sustainable Environment and Effective Legislation” commenced.

The conference was held over two days. The College of Law at Al-Mustansiriya University hosted the first day, while Ashur University hosted the second day, reflecting the level of academic and scientific cooperation between the two universities and their commitment to expanding the horizons of scientific partnership and the exchange of expertise.

The conference witnessed a strong academic and research presence, during which participants discussed a number of research papers and studies addressing the legal and legislative dimensions of environmental and sustainability issues, and the role of law in establishing frameworks to protect the environment and promote sustainable practices.

The conference emphasized the importance of developing environmental legislation to keep pace with contemporary challenges, enhance adherence to environmental standards, and contribute to achieving a balance between the requirements of economic and social development and the preservation of natural resources and the rights of future generations.

The joint conference underscores the two universities' commitment to strengthening scientific and academic cooperation, supporting scientific research on contemporary issues, and solidifying the role of academic institutions in serving society and contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals.
