Ashur University Strengthens Its Role in Supporting the "Riyada" Initiative, Youth Empowerment, and Capacity Building

On Sunday, September 20, 2026, the "Riyada" (Entrepreneurship) Initiative’s trainer preparation course was inaugurated at Ashur University. The opening ceremony was attended by the University President, Prof. Dr. Kadhim Abboud Al-Majidi, who commended the initiative, viewing it as a fundamental pillar for launching entrepreneurial activities throughout the academic year. Also in attendance was the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Samir Abdul-Sahib. This event aligns with Ashur University’s commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship and strengthening its role in youth capacity building and trainer qualification. The University continues its active participation in "Riyada" programs, driven by the belief that its mission extends beyond academic education to serve as an incubator for ideas and talent—a platform for transforming youth potential into sustainable development projects and opportunities.
In this context, Ashur University hosted the launch of a new trainer preparation course for the "Riyada Initiative," running from September 20 to 23, 2026. The course is held under the patronage of the University President, Prof. Dr. Kadhim Abboud Al-Majidi, and attended by Mr. Hussein Falamarz Taher, Director General of the General Directorate for Entrepreneurship and Excellence at the Prime Minister's Office, under the supervision of the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Samir Abdul-Sahib Yarah.
This course is part of a national track aimed at developing and qualifying trainers to equip students and graduates with entrepreneurial skills, thereby enhancing their ability to transform ideas and innovations into viable economic and developmental projects. Through its participation in and ongoing support for the "Riyada" (Entrepreneurship) initiative, Ashur University reaffirms its commitment to fostering a university environment that stimulates creativity and innovation. It aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and labor market demands, thereby helping to prepare a generation capable of taking initiative, creating opportunities, and building the future.
