In order to strengthen scientific, academic, and research cooperation and open new avenues for collaboration to raise the scientific and research level and elevate it to serve the teaching staff and students of both universities, a cooperation and twinning agreement was signed today, Thursday, March 5, 2026. The first agreement was signed by the President of Ashur University, Professor Dr. Kadhim Aboud Al-Majidi, and the President of Al-Karkh University of Science, Professor Dr. Jumaa Salman Jiyad. The second twinning agreement was signed between the Colleges of Engineering, Department of Cybersecurity Engineering, at both universities, by Professor Dr. Jumaa Salman Jiyad, Acting Dean of the College of Engineering at Al-Karkh University, and Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Atiwi, Dean of the College of Engineering at Ashur University. The signing of the two agreements was attended by the Vice Presidents for Scientific Affairs of both universities, along with several deans and department heads. The President of Al-Karkh University of Science welcomed the delegation from Ashur University, expressing his gratitude for their visit. During the meeting, prior to the signing of the agreements, the President of Ashur University spoke about the significant progress achieved at Ashur University in a short period since its establishment. This progress culminated in the opening of the College of Medicine, the only one of its kind in Baghdad among private universities and colleges. He also mentioned the construction of Ashur Teaching Hospital, which includes 400 beds and numerous operating rooms, equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment from leading international manufacturers. The President further discussed the university's scientific and academic advancements, highlighting the recruitment of highly qualified professors from various disciplines. This, he noted, has led to a surge in student enrollment from across the country. For his part, the President of Al-Karkh University of Science thanked the President of Ashur University and the accompanying delegation for their attendance and the high level of trust Ashur University places in Al-Karkh University. The President of Al-Karkh University of Science praised the significant progress achieved at Ashur University in a short period, noting that this development was not accidental but rather a result of the scientific expertise and successful management of Professor Dr. Kadhim Aboud Al-Majidi, the University President. Finally, the President of Al-Karkh University of Science wished Ashur University continued scientific and academic advancement and expressed his willingness to cooperate with both universities in all areas. Professor Dr. Kadhim Al-Majidi, in turn, thanked the President of Al-Karkh University for the warm welcome and cooperation.
