Under the patronage of the respected President of Ashur University, Professor Dr. Kadhum Abboud Al-Majidi, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Matti Alou Boulos, the respected Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, the workshop entitled (Ancient realistic pottery and ceramic formations in America (Moche civilization)) was held on Sunday, April 21, 2024, and was presented by Dr. Ali Mohsen.
After the researcher presented an introduction to realistic pottery formations and their clear impact on the practical life of societies, she explained that it is not just pottery, but rather a multi-dimensional cultural vessel that contains many aspects of thought, beliefs, relationships, myths, practices, and ways of life and livelihood of ancient peoples. She presented a group of artistic portraits with reference. The shapes of ancient sculptures with a detailed description of those compositions. Then, it covers the environmental conditions of the Central Andes region (currently the state of Peru), the owner of the ancient Moche civilization, leading to a review of the characteristics of its cultural thought and comparing it with the cultural ideas of Mesopotamia, the civilization of ancient Egypt, and the civilization of the Greeks.
